Birth/Age
When harp seals are born they are usually around 22 lbs. In two weeks they will become around 65 lbs.
When their born they are born with yellow tints on them. They are called the "yellow coats".
After two days of their birth they will start to loose their yellow tints and become white.
In less than two weeks their fur will start molting(coming off).
Black spots will replace their molting then they are called "Beaters'' and then they are officially an adult.
That is the reason why the parents of harp seals are black and the babies are white.
